Sam Courtwright, a rising sophomore for the Texas Tech Red Raiders soccer team, has been named among 19 other players to fill the U-20 WYNT roster for a training session followed by matches against the hosts and Canada.
Courtwright, a midfielder with swagger and precision, had an impressive true-freshman season with Texas Tech starting and playing in all 23 matches in 2023. While on the pitch, Sam earned titles including 2023 Big 12 Freshman of the Year, 2023 Top Drawer Freshman All-American, and finished the season with five goals and eight assists to help the Red Raiders win the Big 12 title in 2023.
This will be Sam's third training camp for the prestigious United States Youth National Team. Sam attended her first camp in February of 2024 with the U.S. Under-20 Women's Youth National Team, and earned her U-20 cap in a match against Colombia where the U.S. came out on top 1-0.
Sam Courtwright will have an opportunity to earn her second cap as the U.S. will face Germany on April 5th and then Canada on April 7th.
