✨ Bling Bling!✨ NJCAA All-American 6'4 C Sarengbe Sanogo Signs With Texas Tech

The Texas Tech Lady Raiders have finalized their 2024-2025 roster with the signing of rising junior 6-4 center Sarengbe "Sara" Sanogo out of Odessa College. Sanogo earned WJAC Newcomer of the Year, 1st-Team All-Conference, All-Region and honorable mention NJCAA All-American honors averaging 11.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.9 blocks and 1.6 steals in 22.7 minutes played per game.

Sanogo, a native of Créteil, France, brings a more full-court high paced style of play to the five position this roster was looking to fill. Lean, but strong - Sanogo's speed, length and height can't be taught so it's no surprise that Division I programs came calling as Odessa College continued their impressive postseason run into the quarterfinals of the NJCAA Tournament. A run that included Sanogo notching a double double in the team's near upset of No. 2 seeded Wabash Valley, finishing with 12 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks and one steal.

A couple of her most notable games of the year ironically came against New Mexico Junior College and Texas Tech offer 6'6 NJCAA All-American Pania Davis, who is garnering interest from high majors across the country as she heads into her final year of NJCAA ball this coming fall. Sanogo managed 18 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 blocks on January 15th and followed that with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks in the rematch exactly one month later on February 15th.

Most wouldn't label her a shooter or shot creator, but she absolutely is a finisher around the rim - making an eyebrow raising 65.9% of her 252 FGs attempted this past season, good for 4th in the nation. For reference, the NCAAW leader in FG% this past season was Raegan Beers at 66.37%, 65.9% would have finished third. Different levels yeah yeah yeah but basketball is basketball and that is still stupid good efficiency, a credit to her work on the block and high motor. Also didn't hurt to have NJCAA All-American and Conference Player of the Year Ivana Krajina, a 5-11 point guard, feeding her the ball. Lucky for Sanogo, Krajina was also signed by the Lady Raiders earlier in the spring.

Welcome to Lubbock Sarengbe!
