✨Bling Bling!✨ Former Ms. Texas High School Basketball Jalynn Bristow Transfers To Texas Tech From Iowa State

Is it even spring until you see the first Lady Raider Bling Bling of the season? We've made it and it's a FUN one as freshman Iowa State transfer and Holliday, Texas native Jalynn Bristow has committed to Texas Tech following her visit this weekend.

The versatile 6-3 forward is the former No. 47 ranked player in the country in the Class of 2023 per ESPN. She finished her high school career as the Class 3A State Champion and Tournament MVP (21 pts, 14 rbd, 3 blk, 3 stl, 2 ast) capping off a quite frankly ridiculous senior season that ended in a slew of accolades including: Texas Girls’ Coaches Association (TGCA) 1A-2A-3A-4A Girls Basketball Athlete of the Year, Class 3A All-State, Dave Campbell’s 2022-23 Miss Texas Basketball and MaxPreps Small Town America Player of the Year and All-America First Team.

"It's built in us. You can't teach someone to want it. Just having that in us, knowing that we wanted to get farther drove us." - Jalynn Bristow following Iowa State's near upset over Stanford in the NCAA Tournament

Texas Tech originally recruited Bristow out of high school but she ultimately chose Iowa State over a number of high major offers where she finished her freshman season averaging 5.1 points and 3.7 rebounds on 47.7% shooting from the field and 37.9% from three in 15.2 minutes played. Her per 40-min averages put her at 13.4 ppg and 9.7 reb based on her freshman season numbers.

One of her most impressive outings of the season came in the team's near upset of two seeded Stanford in the second round of the NCAA tournament. After the game she had this to say when asked by CycloneFanatics what drove such a performance.

If that quote doesn't fire you up, CHECK YOUR DANG PULSE. Bristow is a player with extreme potential and Texas Tech is a perfect fit for her build and style of play. She will join an ever growing group of talented players on this roster headed into her sophomore season with the Lady Raiders this coming fall.

P.S. the 806 is in her blood. Her mom Kat Bristow hooped for South Plains College. Meant to be, welcome home Jalynn!
